The school grounds provide an array of activities and places for the students to enjoy themselves in social and academic situations.
The playground consists of two large areas with an assortment of equipment, such as monkey bars, flying foxes, slides and many structures to climb or use to imagine they are pirates on the look out for ships on the high seas.
Our oval is large enough to be divided into two smaller ovals for the students to enjoy a game of soccer, football or lead tag.
We have a total of three buildings which are utilised as learning areas, two classrooms and a library. The original school building which stood on the grounds when Durong South State School was opened is still used as one of the classrooms. We also have an administration/staff room demountable that provides the administration officer and principal with a place to perform business duties. The classrooms, library and administration buildings all have wireless internet capability. Other buildings include: an amenities block; a sports shed; and a cleaners/grounds shed.
