Welcome to the Durong South State School website. Our school is a small rural and remote school situated on the edge of the South Burnett region, approximately 90km north-west of Kingaroy, and we currently have 10 students enrolled in one multi-age classroom.
Durong South is lucky enough to have rural setting surrounded by cattle properties and some crop farming. Our students and families are proud of their heritage. The school grounds provide an array of activities and places for the students to enjoy themselves in social and academic situations.
The dedicated staff contribute to the success that students experience in a range of areas at school. The school celebrates the individuality of the students and they are encouraged to be active contributors, life-long learners and develop good interrelationship skills.
Parents and teachers are encouraged to communicate primarily with each other through the Keeping In Touch (KIT) book that the school supplies at the beginning of the year. We also contact parents by newsletters, emails and phone calls as well as during parent teacher interviews.
